China's biggest minivan producer SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobile Co unveiled the first car under its newly created Baojun brand on Nov 22, a model designed to tap rising demand for mid-priced passenger cars.
The Baojun 630, based on GM's Buick Excelle, was unveiled at the brand's headquarters in Guangxi.
The new Baojun is the result of a three-way partnership formed in July between Shanghai Automotive Industry Corp (SAIC), General Motors (GM) and Guangxi's Liuzhou Wuling .

General Motors Co will recall more than 243,000 model year 2009/2010 crossover sport utilities, mainly in the United States, to inspect safety belts for possible damage, the automaker said Tuesday.
The automaker and regulators said most of the Chevy Traverse, Buick Enclave, GMC Acadia, and Saturn Outlook vehicles were shipped within the United States. Several thousands others were exported to Canada, Mexico, China, Saudi Arabia and other countries.

A strong 7.2-magnitude earthquake on Sunday rocked Mexico's northern Baja California state, causing minor damage and killing at least one people, according to latest reports.
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said the quake occurred at 5:40 p.m. local time (2240 GMT) with a depth of 10 km.
The epicenter was some 26 km south-southwest of Guadalupe Victoria, 173km east-southeast of Tijuana, which borders the U.S. city of San Diego, California.

Whole year auto sales for the U.S. auto giant General Motors (GM) in the Chinese market topped 1.82 million units, up 66.9 percent from a year earlier, the company said Monday in an annual business report.
Bullish sales of Buick, Chevrolet and Wuling vehicles boosted the market share, which expanded to an estimated 13.4 percent in 2009, up 1.3 percentage points from that in the previous year, according to the report.
