Electricity prices in Europe have reached a new high in September, rising for the fourth consecutive month, said Austrian energy regulator E-Control on Thursday.
In September, electricity in Copenhagen, capital of Denmark, was still by far the most expensive, as prices reached 28.93 cents (about 40.26 U.S. cents) per kilowatt-hour. Vienna ranked fourth with 19.47 cents per kwh, while Athens of Greece had the cheapest price of 11.64 cents per kwh. - New round of UN climate change talks ends with two extra meetings planned
The first round of UN climate talks after the Copenhagen conference ended here early Monday morning, with negotiators agreeing to hold two more sessions in 2010.
The additional negotiations will be conducted in the second half of 2010 between the two previously scheduled meetings in June in Bonn and in Cancun, Mexico at the end of 2010.
