- Very friendly owners
this is an excellent ryokan run by a family who are extremely helpful. the rooms are clean and tidy and despite the weather being very cold in december the rooms were warm with good heating and special kotatsu tables which are great. they have two onsens which are a bit small but still useful for warming up. these can be easily booked with the owners for private sessions if desired and our 3 small kids loved it. the owners have free bicycles for use to get into town and there is also a bus service that runs nearby – although this is a bit expensive. it is about a 20 min walk into town so not that difficult to get to. however, we found that the guest house owners were always happy to give us a lift into town if they were going that way. they speak reasonable english and are able to deal with most questions put to them. they have free internet available and offer western or japanese breakfast. we did not eat evening meals there although they are available if you give adequate notice.
