(see map.) forecasting the track of pepeng was quite a challenge since at 2 a.m. on oct. 4, 2009 it was heading out after hitting the san roque dam area the day before. but then, at 8 a.m. on oct. 4, the philippine atmospheric, geophysical and astronomical services administration (pagasa) forecast that it was coming back. pagasa reversed its forecast at 8 p.m. on that day and at 2 p.m. on oct. 5 that pepeng was heading out.
