for me, ichiro is just plain fun to watch. whether it is in the field with some amazing catches; throwing out someone at home with his amazing arm; punching a ball just over the the third baseman's head for a double; or beating out an infield hit which he does better than anyone else.
the record books speak for themselves. he isn't breaking records that were set last year or even in the last ten. he is breaking records that are 80 to 100 years old. there is no way you can legitimately argue against his skills or accomplishments. he is better than rose, and perhaps as good or better than ty cobb. i for one, really appreciate his talent and only wish he had come to the major league earlier in his career. if he had he would have shattered many more career records including pete rose's career hits.
