Former Spanish interior minister ratified to run for PM Spain's former interiror minister Alfredo Perez Rubalcaba was ratified on Saturday by ruling Spanish Socialist Party (PSOE) as its candidate to run for the country's top job in the next general election.
The 59-year-old Rubalcaba will lead PSOE's election campaign while Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero remains in office until the elections in March 2012.
