- The CEO meeting
i am going to hold a separate meeting with each staff in my company from today.
this had been held once every three months for the first 5 years since my company started (actually the 7th term), but i must have admitted that it’s necessary to create the organization leaders as my company has expanded (actually i still think that i can manage 500 people or so by myself alone), and the number of the ceo meetings had decreased to every six months and then to once a year.
larger the company organization became, more staff in my company got very nervous on the meeting with the company top executive, and even if i ask “anything to ask me?”, each of the replies is always just “nothing particularly.”
so then i start to communicate with the staff friendlier, and again i ask “anything to ask me?”, now the staff start to talk with like “it’s not particularly important thing, but… ”
the staff coming to here to ask me only about my company’s business results, situations, the policy etc., they finish the meetings within a few minutes since they just mostly listen to what i talk without their thinking much.as well as offering advices, i do answer honestly if i am asked to tell the staff also about where my way of thinking comes from.
if some staff has some idea, i consider and discuss about it on the spot, and it’s very welcome for me to have a discussion with any staff in my company. but such staff, there are only a third of the entire staff after all.so there has no such excellent staff in my company groups neither asking nor saying to me.
“what is you value?” which is my asking also used in conducting the hiring interviews, and i tell my staff straight “who need you?”of course, i say this depending on who they are and their situations after my consideration, so amazingly the staff who were said so by me stay longer in my company and become the forces of my company with their achieving good results.

i did my study of jesus’ love command and worshipped in a lively baptist church and led a small discipleship group every friday night, and stoked my fires with jonathan edwards and god’s word. but what i saw in germany could not come close to the theological and methodological goldmine that i had found in seminary. i used that to write an acceptable dissertation and left as quickly as i could. i did not have to work hard to protect myself from this system. i saw it up close and from the inside and found early on that this global king of biblical scholarship had no clothes on. i was disillusioned by such scholarship.

i went to watch the last game in the final league of the all kanagawa high schools basketball tournament. it’s like the world of the manga “slam dunk”.
one of the officials is an acquaintance of mine, and actually i had something to say to the one, so i drove fast to the venue in the rain.
