Mainland stocks rose the most in seven weeks after China Construction Bank Corp and Sinopec Corp doubled their profit and analysts said stock-index futures trading will boost brokerage earnings.
Citic Securities Co and China Merchants Bank Co, which have the biggest weightings in the index that will be the basis for futures trading, gained at least 3 percent.
China Construction Bank, the second-largest lender, rose 2.3 percent and Sinopec Corp climbed 1.8 percent.

China Shenhua Energy, the nation's biggest coal producer, posted a record profit for a second year on increased output and higher demand. China Shenhua Energy signed a 13.8 billion yuan ($2.02 billion) coal supply contract with Datang International Power Generation, sina.com reported Tuesday. The new contract will be valid until the end of 2013. Shenhua said the contract sales price rose to 570 yuan ($83.51) per ton, 30 yuan ($4.40) higher than in 2009.
