- Albatron Medusa Ti4800 SE
le 4 novembre dernier nous vous proposions le test de la carte graphique albatron ti4200 turbo. batterie dell 1735 cette carte était la première carte 2d/3d albatron à être testée dans notre labo, et nous étions complètement tombé sous le charme. aujourd'hui nous passons à la ti4800se du même constructeur, et nous allons donc l'étudier pour découvrir si elle est oui ou non la digne descendante de sa grande soeur. un air de famille on ne change pas une formule qui gagne. batterie dell 1737 le layout de la ti4800se ressemble en effet comme deux gouttes d'eau à celui de la ti4200 turbo. on retrouve donc un pcb que j'adore car il est bleu (et oui, maintenant vous connaissez ma couleur préférée), sur lequel se trouve le gpu qui est recouvert par un système de refroidissement muni d'un dissipateur entièrement en cuivre, et au look plutôt futuriste, batterie dell 17 même s'il n'y a aucun changement par rapport au refroidisseur de la ti4200 turbo. pour ce qui est de la mémoire, nous avons 128 mo (3.3ns) de mémoire ddr dont le refroidissement est assuré par des dissipateurs classiques de part et d'autre du pcb. hmmm tout ces éléments devraient en théorie bien aider pour l'overclocking ... oui, ok d'accord, c'est bien beau tout ça, mais qu'est-ce donc qu'une ti4800se ? batterie dell e5400 certainement pas une geforcefx :-p au premier abord, on pourrait penser qu'une ti4800se est à la base une ti4600 à laquelle on aurait ajouté le support de l'agp 8x. et bien non. les choses ne sont pas si simples. en fait, la ti4800se que j'ai eue entre les mains est en fait une ti4400 avec agp 8x (elle supporte donc toutes les fonctions propres aux geforce4 ti ... ), hp 411462-141 et non pas une ti4600. pour la ti4600 agp 8x, il vous faudra chercher le nom ti4800 (sans le se), et pour la ti4200 agp 8x, le nom ti4680. qui a parlé d'embrouille ? quoi qu'il en soit, à la base, l'albatron ti4800se est bien une ti4400 qui supporte l'agp 8x. notre chère petite carte dispose donc d'un core à 275 mhz et de mémoire ddr à 550 mhz. hp 411462-421 sur la photo ci-dessus, vous pouvez découvrir un connecteur vga, une sortie tv (s-vidéo) gérée par un contrôleur philips saa7104e, ainsi qu'un connecteur dvi. la ti4800se albatron est également livré avec quatre cd-rom. un contenant les pilotes, un autre le jeu serious sam, le troisième le jeu motocross mania, et pour finir on peut trouver windvd sur le dernier. hp 446507-001 en sus on retrouve pas moins de trois câbles. un s-vidéo, un adaptateur rca/s-vidéo, et pour finir une rallonge rca. a côté de tout cela, on a un manuel très bref qui explique comment installer la carte. il aurait été intéressant d'ajouter à ce bundle un adaptateur dvi vga pour pouvoir profiter pleinement du nview même avec deux écrans crt. ce n'est pas nouveau, hp ev088aa thermaltake n'a jamais su compter. ce constructeur de système de refroidissement est en effet passé du volcano 7 au volcano 9 et maintenant, on se retrouve avec un thermaltake volcano 11 alors qu'il n'y a même pas eu de version 10. alors monsieur ttake, on a séché les cours de maths ? quoi qu'il en soit, nous ne sommes pas ici pour donner des cours à ttake, mais pour voir ce que vaut le dernier dissipateur socket a de la marque ... le volcano 11. hp ev089aa présentation de l'engin les systèmes de refroidissement volcano de thermaltake se suivent et se ressemblent plutôt beaucoup ses derniers temps, et le volcano 11 ne déroge pas à la règle. en effet, alors que le volcano 9 était muni d'un dissipateur de volcano 7, le volcano 11 lui intègre le dissipateur du volcano 7+ et un ventilateur qui a trois modes de fonctionnement comme sur le volcano 9. hp hstnn-ib32 le volcano 11 est donc un mélange des deux meilleurs dissipateurs socket a thermaltake. le résultat sera-t-il intéressant ? nous répondrons plus tard à cette question. ce qu'il vous faut savoir pour l'instant, hp c'est que le v11 dispose d'un dissipateur entièrement en cuivre de 70x66x30.8 mm et d'un ventilateur de 80x80x25 mm surmonté par une grille très stylisée. a côté de cela, nous avons un bracket sur lequel se trouve un potentiomètre qui permettra de faire varier la vitesse de rotation du ventilo, et donc le bruit qu'il produit, ainsi qu'un jumper et une sonde thermique. hp hstnn-ib42 tout comme avec les volcano 7+ et volcano 9, le ventilo du volcano 11 a donc trois modes de fonctionnement. le premier est le mode normal, c'est-à-dire que le ventilo tournera tout le temps à sa vitesse maximale et produira donc énormément de bruit. pour le deuxième mode, hp 462337-001 on connecte au ventilo une sonde thermique qui pourra s'installer au choix sous le cpu ou sur le cpu à côté du core. cette sonde aura pour objectif d'apprécier la température du processeur, ce qui aura pour effet d'accroître ou de diminuer la vitesse de rotation du ventilateur en fonction du dégagement calorifique du processeur. hp 460143-001 le troisième et dernier mode est selon moi le plus intéressant car il permet, grâce au potentiomètre de faire varier manuellement la vitesse du ventilateur. grâce au potentiomètre situé sur un bracket qui s'installera à l'arrière de votre boîtier, le ventilateur pourra passer de 1300 rpm à 4800 rpm, avec une nuisance sonore allant de 17 à 48db, hp 455804-001 et un flux d'air qui lui, variera de 20.55 cfm à 75.70 cfm. autant dire qu'avec sa vitesse minimale, je volcano 11 est silencieux, alors qu'en mode max, il risque de vous casser les oreilles. il n'y a pas si longtemps, nous vous annoncions l'arrivée sur le marché de nouveaux modules de mémoire ddr signés corsair. hp 454931-001 ces modules qui portent au passage le nom twinx-ll ont la particularité d'être vendus par paire puisqu'ils sont destiné comme l'indique corsair aux nouvelles cartes mères qui offrent une gestion de la mémoire dual channel. que valent donc ces barrettes d'un nouveau genre ?
