Togo's Jean-Pierre Fabre, secretary general of the West African country's leading opposition party UFC, reinstated his bid on Wednesday to run in the presidential elections early next month.
He said will be the candidate of several opposition parties.
Fabre, previously the candidate of the United Forces for Change (UFC), was repositioned on Wednesday as the candidate for a collection of political parties under the umbrella of the Republican Front for Alternation and Change (FRAC).

Tensions are still high in the aftermath of the conflicting claims by both camps of the leading candidates, ahead of the official publication of the provisional results.
On Friday, Fabre declared that he had won the election with the support of 75 percent to 89 percent of the votes counted, while the pro-government website republicoftogo.com said Faure took the lead of 63 percent based on 68 percent of the votes cast.
