China's outbound tours in 2010 were expected to top 51 million, up seven percent year on year, said Shao Qiwei, director of China's National Tourism Administration (NTA), on Monday.

The nation bagged 64.62 billion yuan ($9.46 billion) in tourism revenue during the Spring Festival Holiday, attracting 125 million visitors, said the National Tourism Administration in an announcement on its website Saturday.

China's tourism revenue rose 26.9 percent to 64.62 billion yuan (9.46 billion U.S. dollars) during the Spring Festival, the National Tourism Administration (NTA) said Sunday.
China received 125 million tourists during the holiday period from Feb. 13 to 19, up 14.8 percent from the same period last year, a statement on the NTA website said.

A few weeks ago we published the NHS National Treatment Agency for Substance Misuse's (NTA) latest statistics on the number of under-18s in England who are in treatment for drug and alcohol misuse.Today the NTA has released the 2009 figures by region, showing the number of young people receiving support for substance misuse in each area, the primary drugs and the outcome of support and treatment. The release coincides with the launch of a new Guardian microsite, in conjunction with the NTA, aimed at promoting recovery and reintegration for former drug users. According to the data, the north west had the highest number of children being treated for drug dependency over the past year - 4,916 - half of whom were over 16 and most of whom were male. The primary drug there, as in all the English regions, was cannabis, followed by alcohol.
