to be honest, when i fist experienced a lettuce was when i was a school girl, which was 20 years ago at a school lunch. lettuce was rare at that time. so reading ancient egyptians once ate lettuce was very interesting information. of course in japan, lettuce now is one of the most popular vegetables. but recently, due to the hot summer days, one head lettuce costs about 3 dollars. (1 dollar is nearly equivalent to 81 yen.) usually we can buy one at one and half dollar, which is about 100 yen. if i had a garden at home, i'd like to grow one!(52 words)
