- Small plane crashes in southern Colombia, one dead, one injured
One person died and another was injured Monday when a small private plane crashed in the jungles of southern Colombia, aviation officials said.
The single-engine aircraft that provides services to private enterprise Ariari was covering the route between the town of El Retorno and San Jose del Guaviare, in the jungle province of Guaviare.
The Civil Aviation Authority said in a statement that the plane was found in a rural area known as Nueva Primavera, a few miles away from El Retorno.

Southwest Airlines took part of its fleet out of service on Saturday after a plane blew its top and made an emergency landing.
The move affects about half of the outgoing Southwest Airlines flights from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), either leading to the flights' cancellation or delay, airport officials said.
