- First hydrogen station fed by active pipeline launched in Los Angeles
A hydrogen station fed directly from an active industrial hydrogen pipeline was launched in Torrance in the Los Angeles area on Tuesday.
Jointly run by Toyota and Shell, the station was billed as the first of its kind in the United States because other hydrogen stations have the fuel shipped in and stored on site.
The station will service Toyota's fleet of 100 fuel cell test vehicles that the carmaker plans to bring to the U.S. between now and 2013, Toyota officials said.
